![]() His current self is too good, his characteristic might stay the same through out prototype, and that makes it feels inorganic because he doesn't have any personal flaw left to create "potential" growth. Not that it's completely a bad thing, but I feel like Sakurai made Arthur so perfect that it leaves almost no room for him to grow further in Prototype. It's way too perfect, hell it completely flushes out Saber's attributes. With that being said, I felt unease and conflicted that the current Arthur is already fleshed out in addition with the descriptions given by Sakurai stretched out his perfection meter, such as: being able to read to through lies, incredibly social, etc. Simply to say, Arthur is the polished combination Shirou and Saber with a completed resolution right from the start of Prototype. Arthur's conflicting ideology and goodwill are passed down to shirou while his chivalry and kingship passed down to Saber (This has been confirmed from one of Sakurai's interview on fragment by the way.) However, personalities wise they are different in that Arthur matured out Shirou's flaw right at the end of fragment, and his prototype-self seems more laid-back in comparison to Saber who was mostly stoic until the later half of her route. After finishing the VN, I can definitely see some traces of Arthur in both Saber and Shirou.
